Pendo integration

Pendo is a product analytics and digital adoption platform. Integrating Pendo with Frontegg lets your application read product usage data, features, pages, guides, and visitor and account details on behalf of your users — all through Frontegg's integration layer (Pendo Engage public REST API v1). Pendo authenticates with a static Integration Key sent on every request, so there is no OAuth flow.

Prerequisites

  • A Pendo subscription with admin access
  • Access to Settings → Integrations in Pendo to create an Integration Key

Connect to Pendo

Pendo authenticates API requests with an Integration Key created by an admin in the Pendo web app. The key is sent on every request as the X-Pendo-Integration-Key header. Pendo hosts data in several regions, so you also select the Region that matches your subscription.

Step 1: Open Integration Keys

Sign in to Pendo and go to Settings → Integrations → Integration Keys.

Step 2: Create an Integration Key

Add a new Integration Key and give it a descriptive name, for example Frontegg Integration. Enable Allow Write Access if you want to use write operations as well as reads. Copy the key value.

Keep your Integration Key secure

The Integration Key grants access to your Pendo subscription through the API. Treat it like a password and never expose it in client-side code or commit it to version control. If it is exposed, delete it and create a new one on the same page.

Configure the Frontegg portal

Once you have your Integration Key, configure the integration in the Frontegg portal:

  1. Open the Frontegg portal and navigate to [ENVIRONMENT] → Integrations → Pendo.
  2. Select your RegionUS (default), EU, US1, Japan, or Australia — to match your Pendo data residency.
  3. Paste your Integration Key.
  4. Click Save.

Keep your credentials secure

Never share or commit your Integration Key to version control.
